Traveling Actors

The Schoolhouse Traveling Actors were formed in the Fall of 2004. The group showcases the most dedicated and talented students that are active participants in Schoolhouse programs.

The group travels throughout Anne Arundel, Howard, and Prince George's Counties. They have performed at Six Flags America, MTI's Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, the National Performing Arts Festival in New York, local PTA's and for many of S.T.A.'s school-year programs.

Membership to the group is limited. To become a member, students must be recognized by their directors during an S.T.A. program for their outstanding talent and work-ethic. They are then invited to audition for the group.

In the past the group has performed shows such as Schoolhouse Rock Live, Jr., Honk, Jr., Aladdin, Jr., High School Musical, West Side Story, Once On This Island, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Masquerade.

In 2010, the STA Traveling Actors unleashed their third annual performnace at the Chesapeake Arts Center in Anne Arundel County.  They also continued with inspiring performances at Elkridge Landing Middle School.

The 2010-2011 Traveling Actors were divided into a junior and senior company, performing Alice in Wonderland, Jr. and Ruthless.  Both companies attended the National Theater Festival in New York City in February, 2011.

In 2011-2012 the STA Traveling Actors Junior Company is producing Mulan, Jr.  The Senior Company is producing The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Performances for both companies will take place at the Chesapeake Arts Center in late February and early March of 2012.
