Schoolhouse Theater Arts

Summer Camps at

Slayton House
This summer STA welcomes young actors to join us for

3 one-week camps in August!

STA summer camps are ideal for campers looking to either begin exploring or continue practicing skills in the world of theatrical arts.  Campers will make new friends, learn drama skills, lines, choreography, music, and have FUN!  Each session will be supervised by experienced staff and will culminate in a final production in the afternoon of the last day of camp.

The sessions are:

August 8-12: Rockin' Broadway Revue.  Campers will focus on songs & scenes from Broadway shows like "High School Musical, Jr.", "Grease, School Edition", and "Hairspray, Jr."

August 15-19:  Monologues, Scenes, & Songs.  Campers will work on drama skills & character development.  They'll also have the opportunity to write their own scenes or monologues.

August 22-26:  It Takes a Cast to Make a Show!  Campers will collaborate to put together a show in 4 days!  They will choose songs from a pre-determined selection and then write their own play to perform on the last day of camp.

  • Campers should bring a non-perishable peanut-free lunch, 3-ring binder, and water bottle. Sneakers are highly recommended. Masks are mandatory.

  • Campers should be entering grades 2-7 in the fall.

  • All camps will be held Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
