ABOUT US
Where Education Meets the Arts
Founded in 2000, Schoolhouse Theater Arts, Inc. was established by longtime educators Mimi Chiarella, Dave Ortega, and Cheryl Ramsey. With decades of experience in both classroom instruction and children’s theater, they created Schoolhouse Theater Arts to provide students with meaningful, enriching experiences through the performing arts.
Our Mission
At Schoolhouse Theater Arts, we believe that theater is more than just performance—it's a powerful educational tool that builds confidence, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills. Our mission is to nurture the whole child through engaging, hands-on learning that brings stories to life on stage.
Our Legacy
What began as a shared vision among three dedicated educators has grown into a trusted theater program known for quality, inclusivity, and a commitment to helping every child find their voice. Whether on stage or behind the scenes, our students are given the tools and encouragement they need to succeed—not just in theater, but in life.

ABOUT OUR STAFF
At Schoolhouse Theater Arts, we’re proud to employ only the finest! Our dedicated team is made up of individuals who are passionate about theater and love working with children — many of whom are former campers or travel group members themselves.
Each team member is carefully selected for their creativity, energy, and leadership. All staff undergo a thorough background check prior to employment, and a certified CPR staff member is always on site to ensure the safety and well-being of every camper.
Together, our team creates a supportive, fun, and inspiring environment where young performers can grow, learn, and shine.
